  Pre-booked a meal just before Christmas for 19 people. Arrived at 12 noon, some had starters but did not arrive together, then we had to wait for at least three... read more quarters of an hour for our main meal. Turkey and beef I understand were good and so were the vegetables, but they forgot my luxury nut roast and I did not receive this until 1.20pm!!!!! (that resembled a mushroom risotto with a few nuts thrown on top - not very nice). Desserts were good. When we went to pay and get our £2 parking fee back, it was put in our hands without a thank you from the landlady. The waiting staff were inexperienced although they tried their best. Service was not the quickest and a lot were waiting for their meals when others had finished. None of us will be going back to visit unless someone else takes over.

  Avoid! - Went to get something to eat only to be told they don’t do food. This is contradictory to other reviews and information online. Then received a fine for the 10... read more minutes spent in their car park. They didn’t tell us they had to take our reg to prevent a fine even though they saw us arrive in a car. Now say they can’t do anything about it. Staff were rude and made us feel very unwelcome so even if they did food, we wouldn’t have stayed. Avoid!

Everything about it was nice. Firstly, there is a car park at the back of the pub. There was a choice of local beers (all nice) and then we had a Sunday Dinner which was good in terms of both quality and quantity. And the service and friendliness of staff was wonderful. Would happily recommend the pub.

  Don't believe what you are told by staff. - It was my birthday so I arranged for a party of 6 with 2 cars, we are local to the pub so we know the carpark set up.
On entering... read more the restaurant side we were shown our table, we then said to the waitress we need to log our cars, oh don't worry about that she said if you get a ticket come back to us and we will sort it out. Eventually we got served.
The waitress was so slow and very unprofessional, and we were the only one's in the restaurant. Several weeks later my two guests had parking tickets £60 or late payment £100 . I felt so responsible for the upset that I phoned the pub landlord only to be told it's out of his hands.one car driver appealed but was turned down and the other i appealed on behalf of the driver on line also turned down. The email notice for this was missed as they tagged a verification code on the end of appeals email weeks later. We now have run out of time so a £100 enforcement notice has been received. We shall never return under this management.

  Our hosts recommended this venue, and we went for a Sunday roast, it was so good we went back the following Sunday too!

  Lovely carvery - Really lovely carvery. We drive by and stopped on spec, had a delicious carvery, we sat outside and they even brought a treat for our dogs. Really lovely Sunday lunch... read more experience.
